Aspergillus niger

Growth on PDA is rapid and fast. Powdery black colour almost covering the plates after 72 h

Non-septate conidiophores arising from thick-walled foot cells. Each conidiophores ends in a terminal enlarged spherical swellings. Conidia borne by phialides arising from a terminal swelling on the conidiophores

2.

Aspergillus oryzae

Growth on PDA is rapid and fast. Powdery brown colour almost covering the plates after 72 h

Non-septate conidiophores arising from thick-walled foot cells. Each conidiophores ends in a terminal enlarged spherical swellings. Conidia borne by phialides arising from a terminal swelling on the conidiophores

3.

Rhizopus stolonifera

Rapid and fast growth of about 36 mm after 24 h which soon spread and cover the plates. Growth appear as black pin-head, similar to cotton wool (white in colour)

Mycelium of non-septate hyphae of large diameter. The sporangiophore bears a terminal black spherical sporangium. The sporangiophores are erect and may be branched or unbranched each bearing a single globose sporangium
